About Local #7
What We Do
Through collective bargaining Local 7 represents its members in order to obtain and maintain a reasonable wage rate, benefits for members and their families, safe working conditions, an apprenticeship mechanism, and a voice for members. Local 7 leaders participate on a local, provincial and national level in political action and various committees in order to ensure representation of its members and to put forward the issues that are important. As an affiliate of the Unionized Building and Construction Trades Council - Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, Local 7 represents your interests locally and participates in organizing and carrying out activities to promote the growth, and prosperity of unionized work and to protect the jurisdiction of unionized building trades in the area.
On an ongoing basis, Local 7 monitors the benefit programs and ensures that contributions are remitted by employers on a timely and accurate basis. Where necessary, Local 7 represents its members in legal actions.
